Eyewitnesses reported hearing the sound of aircraft, loud explosions, and smoke columns in the city, with the southern part of Caracas near a major military base left without electricity. According to international media reports, U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered strikes on targets within Venezuela, including military installations. The Venezuelan government has announced that President Nicolás Maduro has declared a national emergency, emphasizing that the U.S. will not succeed in seizing the country’s resources.
