WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that under his leadership, U.S. troops will never be sent to Ukraine to defend its borders. In a recent interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized that his goal is solely to end the war and save lives. He asserted, “You can count on me; I’m the president, and I’m trying to make sure people are not killed anymore.” Trump reiterated that his policy focus would be on reaching an agreement to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, rather than guaranteeing Ukrainian security with American forces. He remarked that sending troops abroad is not a solution to the problem; instead, it prolongs the war and leads to the involvement of other countries. This comes as the war in Ukraine remains a significant concern for the region and the world. Many Western nations are providing military and financial assistance to Ukraine but have been cautious about deploying their own troops. Trump stated that his priority would be to bring peace.
