KABUL: In two separate incidents in Khost province, a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy have committed suicide due to economic hardships and family disputes. The incidents occurred on Friday in the districts of Doah Menda and Ismail Khel, with the girl reported from the village of Sayed Khel and the boy from the village of Mehta Khan. Local sources attribute these tragic events to economic pressures and familial tensions. Notably, the Taliban has recently banned the reporting of suicide news. Additionally, in Jawzjan province, the body of a 36-year-old teacher named Allah Nazar was found hanging in the city of Sheberghan. The teacher, originally from the Khwaja Dukoh district, was discovered hanging from a tree in the Eid Mahala area. The cause of his death remains unclear; although suicide is a possibility, his relatives claim he had no economic or psychological issues. The Taliban in Jawzjan have not commented on this incident. The Taliban’s security command in the province reported the arrest of three individuals related to two murder cases, but it is unclear whether these arrests are connected to Allah Nazar’s death. Despite claims of providing security, mysterious killings continue in the country. In the past three days, four individuals have been killed in Herat and Badghis, including a village chief in Herat and a young man in Badghis who was shot by the Taliban. The Taliban have yet to respond to these incidents.
