The use of smart phones has been banned in all local administrative offices in Panjshir, Afghanistan, according to a statement from the provincial governor’s spokesperson, Saifuddin Laton. He said, citing an order from the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, that civil and military employees are not permitted to use smart phones inside government offices, and that violators will be dealt with in accordance with the law. The governor’s spokesperson added that the decision has been implemented as part of directives and decrees issued by the leadership, and that computers will be used for administrative and service-related work instead.
