HERAT: A new iron melting factory has commenced operations in Herat with an investment of approximately $7 million. Khan Gul Ishaqzai, the owner of the factory, stated that the facility has a daily production capacity of 150 tons of rebar and has created job opportunities for 150 individuals. Shaikh Maulana Islamjar, the Taliban governor of Herat, emphasized the importance of supporting domestic production and urged industrialists to focus more on quality rather than quantity. Mawlavi Mohammad Bashir Sirat, the head of the Taliban’s Industry and Commerce Department in Herat, mentioned that efforts to support industrialists and investors continue, aiming to create more employment opportunities for citizens. Officials from the Industry and Commerce Department of Herat indicated that this is the fourth iron melting factory to begin operations in the province. They noted that establishing manufacturing facilities within the country not only creates job opportunities but also helps meet the country’s iron needs.
