KABUL: Iranian Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview with the Financial Times that any agreement is impossible as long as U.S. President Donald Trump insists on preventing Iran from fully enriching uranium. Araghchi referred to the 12-day war on Iranian territory, emphasizing that the U.S. must compensate Iran for the damages incurred before resuming negotiations. He also demanded that the U.S. clarify why attacks occurred during previous talks and provide guarantees regarding the resumption of discussions. Iranian officials maintain that their uranium enrichment is peaceful and insist they are committed to the directive of their religious leader, which states that the Iranian government will not develop nuclear weapons. Araghchi affirmed that the government still possesses the capability to enrich uranium. This comes after Trump accused the Iranian government of trying to strengthen its nuclear facilities again on Thursday evening.
