Passenger plane crashed with around 50 people onboard in Russia

MOSCOW: A Russian passenger plane, an Antonov An-24, has crashed with around 50 people on board, Reuters reported today. Russian emergency services officials stated that the aircraft went down in a remote area in the eastern part of the country, and it is feared that all passengers may have been killed. The 50-year old aircraft belonged to the Angara airline, based in Siberia and its wreckage has been identified by helicopter, and rescue teams are on the crash site. The plane was reportedly traveling from the city of Blagoveshchensk to the remote city of Tynda. The cause of the crash with dozens of passengers is still unknown. The crash site is located in a forested area near the border with China.
