KABUL: According to the British newspaper Daily Mail report, the Taliban has killed at least 10 individuals in recent days following the exposure of information regarding approximately 19,000 Afghan citizens who collaborated with British forces. Four of the victims were executed by firing squad in Badakhshan province, with their bodies found in a valley. Another four were targeted and killed after being forcibly returned from Iran. Sources have indicated to the Daily Mail that the victims might include former Afghan special forces members who fought alongside British troops against the Taliban. One of the deceased was the brother of an Afghan soldier who had sought refuge in Britain and whose name appeared in the disclosed documents. Additionally, in Kandahar city, a man identified his attacker as a Taliban member just before dying from gunshot wounds. Hours later, a former military commander who had collaborated with the U.S. military was also killed in a separate attack. The Daily Mail noted that the leaked information contained sensitive details about hundreds of interpreters, local collaborators, and former Afghan security personnel who worked with the British government. The Taliban has claimed to have accessed this information. Meanwhile, British lawyers are investigating whether the deceased included asylum seekers whose cases are still under review in the UK.
