KABUL: The United Nations Children’s Fund

(UNICEF) has announced that four million children in Afghanistan are deprived of education due to a lack of suitable school facilities, access to clean drinking water, and a shortage of teachers, particularly female teachers.

UNICEF’s report indicates that many children drop out of school due to economic difficulties, as they are compelled to seek work to support their families.

The organization emphasized its focus on hiring female teachers, whom families culturally consider suitable choices for their children.

This situation is compounded by the Taliban’s closure of schools for girls beyond the sixth grade, resulting in more than two million girls being deprived of education by 2025.
