Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, says Tehran has set seven conditions for resuming negotiations with Washington and that the conditions have been conveyed to the US government through Qatari mediators.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Rezaei said Tehran was in contact with the Qatari mediator and was waiting for a response from US President Donald Trump.
He identified three of the conditions as an end to the war on all fronts, the release of Iran’s frozen assets and an end to the naval blockade. He did not publicly disclose the other four conditions.
Rezaei also said Tehran was prepared for what he described as a “decisive war” and reiterated that Iran was awaiting Washington’s response to its conditions.
Qatar and Pakistan are meanwhile mediating efforts to resume negotiations between Iran and the United States.
