The US Central Command (CENTCOM) says it has diverted 18 commercial vessels since the renewed enforcement of a naval blockade against Iran. In a post on X on Tuesday, CENTCOM said it had also disabled two vessels and seized two others to ensure full compliance with the blockade. The command added that more than 20 vessels are operating across the Middle East in support of military operations and the enforcement of the naval blockade against Iran. The United States reimposed the naval blockade after the latest round of hostilities with Iran began. Although direct fighting between the US and Iran has been suspended since Friday, the naval blockade remains in effect. Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, however, has said it views the naval blockade as an escalation of the conflict.
