Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the war with Iran is not over and that Israel will continue efforts to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Al Jazeera reported on Thursday, 9 July, that Mr Netanyahu said Iran had suffered a “heavy blow” and that Israel’s policy was to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, whether through an agreement or without one. He added that the continuation of the war with Iran had created new challenges for Israel. Mr Netanyahu also repeated his claim that Iran would have obtained nuclear weapons if Israel had not taken action.
