Iran’s foreign ministry has said the outcome of Israel’s election is of no importance to Tehran, stressing that its approach towards Israel is not determined by the country’s domestic political developments.
The statement comes amid continued tensions between Iran and Israel, with concerns over the possibility of renewed military confrontation in the region.
Relations between the two countries have remained strained amid disputes over Iran’s nuclear programme, Israel’s security concerns and the wider regional conflict.
Iran has also said it remains open to diplomacy with the United States, although disagreements over the terms of a possible agreement continue.
