The Afghanistan Freedom Front says its fighters carried out missile strikes on Kunduz Military Airport on Thursday night, targeting helicopters carrying Taliban fighters. In a statement, the group said the attack took place at around 9:00 p.m. on 30 July 2026, based on intelligence about Taliban deployments. It claimed that the strikes targeted Taliban personnel preparing to deploy from Kunduz to Badakhshan province. The Freedom Front claimed that the attack caused significant casualties and material losses, but said the exact number of Taliban fighters killed or wounded remains unclear. The group also said that in recent days the Taliban had increased the deployment of fighters and logistical support to areas where the Freedom Front operates.
