30 July 2026 — Afghanistan’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation says 880 Afghan nationals have been released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to the country through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings. In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said 713 people entered Afghanistan through Torkham, while 167 others returned through Spin Boldak. The ministry said the returnees included families and individuals who had been detained in Pakistan for various reasons and were released after completing their sentences. It added that the returnees received necessary assistance after their arrival and were transported to their areas of origin.
