Reuters: Pakistan Seeks $10 Billion in US Financial Support to Bolster Foreign Reserves

Pakistan has asked the United States for $10 billion in financial assistance to strengthen its foreign exchange reserves and ease pressure on its economy, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing a source familiar with the matter. According to the report, Islamabad is hoping to secure greater economic support from Washington following its role in facilitating talks related to the Iran conflict. The request reportedly includes the establishment of a US–Pakistan exchange rate stabilisation mechanism, aimed at reinforcing Pakistan’s foreign currency reserves and helping reduce pressure on the Pakistani rupee.
