Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has said that mediators are actively working to prevent further escalation and that diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions are continuing. Baghaei said proposals from mediators have been presented and are currently under review. He added that Iran’s diplomacy would continue pursuing political solutions and would not spare efforts in that regard. The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also said that internal divisions would not benefit the country, claiming that the Iranian people have always sought peace. Referring to recent US strikes on parts of Iran, Baghaei alleged that facilities in several provinces, including Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Khuzestan, Bushehr and Ilam, had been targeted. He described attacks on civilian infrastructure as “an attack on people’s right to life and human dignity”, adding that any strike on Iranian territory was considered an attack on the entire country.
