US President Donald Trump has said that Washington will carry out intensified military strikes against Iran tonight and tomorrow, adding that the operation could continue for two to three weeks. Speaking in an interview with the Hugh Hewitt Show, Trump said Iran could retain some of its missiles, but stressed that Tehran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. He said a memorandum of understanding with Iran had been a test of its commitment, but claimed that Tehran had failed to honour the agreement. Trump also addressed his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that while they sometimes disagree, he communicates his views to him. He described their relationship as “very good”. The US president also accused Iran of “only talking” and repeated his warning that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons.
