PARIS — Ahmad Massoud, leader of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front (NRF), has called on Pakistan to support his group in opposing the Taliban. Speaking at a conference in France, Massoud said Pakistan was currently engaged in fighting groups such as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He argued that, given the current situation, Islamabad should support the resistance front against the Taliban. Massoud said his forces were continuing their struggle against the Taliban. His remarks come as tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban authorities have increased in recent months, particularly over security concerns and the activities of armed groups.
