Former US President Barack Obama has said that Washington’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal allowed Tehran to expand its nuclear capabilities. Referring to the costs of the recent conflict with Iran, Obama said that billions of dollars were spent, significant pressure was placed on the US military, and many lives were lost. He added that the situation has now largely returned to a point close to where it was before the escalation began. Obama also stated that under the terms of the ceasefire, 60 days have been allocated to develop a plan regarding Iran’s nuclear program, but it remains unclear what that plan will entail.
