The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has confirmed that 28 civilians were killed and 49 others injured in recent Pakistani airstrikes targeting the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar. In a statement, the mission said that women and children were among the victims of the attacks. According to UNAMA, in an airstrike on the Chamkani district of Paktia province, 22 civilians were killed and 47 others were injured. In a separate strike on Giyan district of Paktika province, six civilians were killed, while in Marawara district of Kunar province, two children were injured. UNAMA emphasized the protection of civilians and respect for international humanitarian law. Meanwhile, according to figures released by the Islamic Emirate, a total of 36 civilians were killed and 163 others were injured in the Pakistani airstrikes.
