Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has accused Iran of delaying an agreement that he said “could have been beneficial for this country” and stated that Tehran will now pay the cost of this delay. In a message posted on Truth Social on Wednesday, June 10, Trump wrote that Iran’s military forces are in a “chaotic state” and that, according to him, parts of Iran’s air and naval forces have “practically been destroyed.” He also described Iran as “all talk, no action.” In another part of these remarks, which were also reported by Fox News, Trump warned that there is a possibility of ordering new strikes on energy infrastructure and other targets inside Iran. Meanwhile, a knowledgeable source told Reuters that Qatari mediators, after consultations with the United States, travelled to Tehran on Wednesday morning to work on reducing differences and reaching an agreement. Qatar is playing a mediating role in this process. At the same time, sources familiar with the matter told Fox News that these mediators are attempting to reduce the remaining disagreements in the negotiations. On the other side, Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had previously accused Washington of hindering the progress of negotiations through “violating the ceasefire and changing demands.”
