Trump Extends Ceasefire with Tehran; Iran Rejects It

Donald Trump, President of the United States, has announced that the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran will be extended until Iran presents a formal proposal and negotiations conclude. In a statement, he said the decision was made to allow more time for the dialogue process and will remain in effect until Iranian officials submit a “unified proposal.” Trump emphasized that U.S. forces will remain on high alert and that the naval blockade against Iran will continue. Meanwhile, Iran’s state television has reported that Tehran does not recognize the ceasefire declared by Trump and will not adhere to it. At the same time, some sources indicate that the decision to extend the ceasefire was made in anticipation of a response from a senior figure within the Islamic Republic to a new proposal, as well as ongoing mediation efforts aimed at advancing negotiations.
