Amid Ongoing Trade Developments Alireza Bikdeli, Acting Ambassador of Iran in Kabul, has stated that Iran is interested in increasing the share of Afghan exports to its market. According to a statement released by the Iranian Embassy in Kabul on Sunday , Bikdeli called on Iran’s private sector to expand its engagement in importing goods from Afghanistan. He had previously noted that since the beginning of the current year, more than 100,000 tons of goods have been transported via the railway connecting Iran and Afghanistan. Bikdeli also expressed hope that the volume and pace of cargo transfers along this route would improve in the month of Sawr. These remarks come amid concerns that trade between Afghanistan and Iran could be disrupted following the onset of a joint war by the United States and Israel against Iran.
