China Calls U.S. Blockade of Iranian Ports “Dangerous”

China has described the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports as “dangerous and irresponsible.” In a statement on Tuesday, China’s Foreign Ministry said the move escalates tensions and undermines the fragile ceasefire by increasing military activity. The ministry warned that the action threatens the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and reflects irresponsible behavior. Meanwhile, reports indicate that a Chinese oil tanker has passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite the blockade. Chinese President Xi Jinping has also proposed a four-point plan aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
