DUBAI: In response to the increasing traffic congestion in Dubai, a unique and modern underground transport project has been approved, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time for residents. According to officials, the project will relieve traffic pressure in the city and make daily commuting much easier for people. The initial pilot route of this modern transport system will be 6.5 kilometers long. Valued at over $540 million, the first phase of the project will consist of four underground stations, with designs already presented. The stations will be located at Burj Khalifa, DIFC 2, Zabeel Dubai Mall parking, and ICD Brookfield Place. After Las Vegas in the U.S., Dubai will become the second city in the world to implement a loop system. Dubai officials have signed a contract with American billionaire Elon Musk’s company, The Boring Company, for the construction of the project. According to officials, upon completion, the entire loop system will feature 19 stations and will have an overall length of 22.2 kilometers. Authorities have stated that the construction of the first phase of the project will be completed within a year, with the entire project expected to be finished in three years.
