WASHINGTON: International media, citing local officials in Michigan, reported that due to heavy snowfall and icy roads, more than 100 vehicles were involved in a chain collision, with some vehicles going off the road. According to reports, emergency service teams are on-site clearing the roads and transporting the injured to hospitals. Michigan police have stated that many individuals have been injured in this incident, but “no fatalities” have been reported. Simultaneously, the National Weather Service in the U.S. has issued warnings of extreme cold weather and winter storms in several states.
