BANGKOK: International media reports indicate that on Wednesday, a crane collapsed onto a passenger train in northeastern Thailand, resulting in at least 22 fatalities and nearly 100 injuries. The incident occurred in Nakhon Ratchasima province, located 230 kilometers from Bangkok. Thai police stated that the crane was working on a high-speed railway project when it struck two of the three train cars. Thai Transport Minister Fifat Ratchakitchphakarn reported that there were 195 passengers aboard the train, and many bodies have yet to be recovered from the wreckage. Officials have warned that the death toll may rise.
