WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the U.S. to withdraw from 66 international organizations. The list includes 31 entities affiliated with the United Nations and 35 independent organizations. The White House has stated that these entities were not serving U.S. interests, without specifying the names of the organizations. According to the Associated Press, most of these organizations consist of agencies, commissions, and advisory bodies associated with the UN, focusing on issues such as climate change, labor, migration, and other matters that the Trump administration refers to as part of its “Awakening” initiatives. Among the independent organizations listed are names such as “Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation,” “International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance,” and the “Global Forum on Terrorism.” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio welcomed this move, stating that the U.S. will no longer subsidize “globalist bureaucrats” who, according to him, act against American interests. In a post on X, he emphasized that the Trump administration will always prioritize America and Americans. Rubio described these 66 global organizations as “anti-American, useless, or wasteful,” adding that the review of other international organizations will continue.
