Firefighting vehicles purchased to strengthen emergency response at seven customs facilities

KABUL: The General Directorate of Customs at the Ministry of Finance of the Taliban has announced the purchase of eight firefighting vehicles worth over two million US dollars to reduce the risk of fire in the country’s customs facilities. According to the ministry’s statement, these vehicles were manufactured in 2025 and each has a water storage capacity of 10,000 liters. The total value of the vehicles is reported to be $2,036,000. The ministry indicated that these vehicles will be utilized at the customs facilities in Hairatan, Aqina, Nangarhar, Herat, Farah, Nimroz, and Kandahar. The Taliban’s Ministry of Finance stated that this initiative aims to mitigate potential damages and protect commercial assets in the customs areas.
