KABUL: In recent days, three violent incidents in Kabul, Laghman, and Kunduz have resulted in the deaths of three individuals. In Kabul, a teenager from Panjshir named “Sahil” was shot and killed while working in a bakery on the Khairkhana road and his younger brother was injured in the attack. The Taliban have reported the arrest of seven individuals in connection with this murder. In Laghman, a conflict during a wedding ceremony in the city of Mehtarlam led to one death. Taliban police have stated that four individuals, along with three Kalashnikov rifles, have been arrested. Local sources indicate that those who initiated the conflict were members of the Taliban. In Kunduz, Abdul Rahman Aimak, a former commander of local uprisings in Aliabad district, was deliberately stabbed to death. Local sources attribute this attack to direct orders from two Taliban members, but the group’s officials have not yet responded. Social activists have warned that the proliferation of small arms and the lack of adequate oversight over armed behavior have led to an increase in fatal violence in communities and cities.
