KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he discussed limiting nuclear weapons with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, Trump made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday. The president emphasized that China would also be included in discussions regarding nuclear weapons limitations. He stated, “We are talking about limiting nuclear weapons and will involve China in this matter. Currently, we have the most weapons, Russia is second, and China is third.” Trump added that although China ranks third in terms of nuclear weapons, assessments indicate that it could reach U.S. levels in the number of warheads within the next five years. According to evaluations by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the U.S. and Russia alone possess 90% of the world’s nuclear weapons.
