Afghanistan National Team squad announced for the Asia Cup

KABUL: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced a 20-member squad for the 2025 T20 Asia Cup, featuring 17 players in the main roster and 3 in the reserve list. The board noted that a training camp was previously held in Kabul to prepare for the tournament, and players are currently engaged in a training camp in the United Arab Emirates. Rashid Khan is the captain and the players are included Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sadiq Atal, Darwish Rasooli, Gulbadin Naib, Karim Janat, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi Eisakhail, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, Mohammad Ishaq Rahimi, Mujeeb Zadran, Noor Ahmad Lakanwal, Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Fareed Ahmad Malik are the players as well as Wafiullah Tarakhail, Nangyal Kharoti, and Abdullah Ahmadzai are reserve players. It is worth mentioning that a squad for the upcoming tri-series involving Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates will also be selected from the current 22 players in the UAE training camp.
