Deadly attack on worshippers in Nigeria claims 50 lives

KABUL: Armed assailants attacked worshippers in a mosque in the Malumfashi district, Nigeria’s northwestern Katsina State, media reported. According to AFP, residents of the area reported that the attack occurred during the morning prayer, resulting in at least 30 casualties. Sources indicate that after the assault on the mosque, the attackers turned to nearby villages, setting approximately 20 individuals ablaze. According to the assailants have been involved in violent conflicts with villagers over land and water disputes for an extended period.
