Warning from Pakistan’s Army Chief to the Taliban regarding TTP

ISLAMABAD: General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, has warned the Taliban to refrain from sending fighters from the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) into Pakistani territory. Speaking in Brussels, he also accused India of supporting armed opposition groups in Pakistan to disrupt peace and security in the country. Munir emphasized that the security institutions and army are responsible for avenging the blood of every Pakistani citizen, stating that no threat will go unanswered. According to a statement from the Pakistan Army, the chief also dismissed rumors about changes in army leadership. He added that Pakistan has a long and successful history of maintaining a balance in its relations with both China and the United States.
