JALALABAD: Sources in Nangarhar report that the Taliban closed several shops in the province after the shopkeepers refused to display the group’s flags. It is said that around 60 shops in various parts of Jalalabad city were shut down. According to sources, the Taliban had requested shopkeepers to install their flags on their stores in celebration of the fourth anniversary of their rule. This comes at a time when the Taliban has reportedly forced child laborers and students to participate in celebrations for their regime’s anniversary. The group has also installed its flags on shops in various cities. The fourth anniversary of the Taliban’s rule, which lacks legitimacy within Afghanistan, was marked by the group.
