GAZA: The United Nations Security Council has expressed deep concern regarding reports indicating that Israel intends to expand its military operations and may fully occupy the Gaza Strip. Miroslav Jenca, the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, stated in the Security Council that if these reports are true, it would have severe consequences and put the remaining hostages at serious risk. The remarks come amid reports from Israeli media suggesting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to present a proposal for the complete occupation of Gaza during a meeting of the security cabinet. The Security Council held at Israel’s request to discuss the status of hostages still held by Hamas. Last week, Palestinian militants released videos of two Israeli hostages, showing that both are in a very delicate and poor condition.
