KABUL: The Taliban’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, held talks via telephone with Abbas Araghchi, the Acting Foreign Minister of Iran today. According to a statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed bilateral issues, the process of Afghan migrants being expelled from Iran, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Muttaqi described the expulsion of Afghan migrants as “concerning” and emphasized the need for their gradual and dignified return, ensuring the protection of their rights. The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Abbas Araghchi promised efforts to ensure that the return of migrants is conducted in a respectful and gradual manner, without violating their rights. Additionally, both sides described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as “severe” and stressed the importance of holding a meeting of foreign ministers from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to find solutions to alleviate the crisis
