KABUL: A number of Afghanistan national cricket team players have expressed their support for Afghan migrants forcibly expelled from Iran and Pakistan, stating that these fellow countrymen urgently need assistance and solidarity.

Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi posted on his Facebook page: “With great sorrow, we learned that recently around 400,000 Afghan migrants have been expelled from Iran, and this process continues. I have seen painful videos on social media showing women, children, and the elderly in very difficult conditions. These vulnerable people need our solidarity and help more than ever.”

Shahidi urged businessmen, industrialists, and especially Afghan traders living abroad to extend a helping hand to these migrants.

Another national team player, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, shared an image of the expelled migrants on his X account, calling on the people of Afghanistan to unite and generously support these returnees, providing them with hope and encouragement.

It is noteworthy that the Afghanistan national cricket team players have previously assisted victims of natural disasters, such as the earthquake and flood-affected families in Herat and Paktia and amplifying their voices at national and international levels.
