The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stated in a recent report that humanitarian aid must be guaranteed for women, ensuring their safe and full participation in the delivery of assistance.
According to the report, at least 7.1 million Afghans received some form of humanitarian aid in the first two months of 2025. OCHA noted that over 500,000 individuals received assistance during January and February, with 89% of this aid being food assistance.
The UN indicated that this aid, valued at $296 million, was funded through new financial sources as well as budget transfers from 2024.
OCHA emphasized that humanitarian needs in Afghanistan remain significant, and the operational situation continues to be “complex.”
