The officials of the Taliban and the Russian, at the end of the Afghanistan-Russia Economic Forum, have signed five Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs).
The office of the Taliban’s deputy PM for Economic Affairs said in a statement late on Friday that the MoUs have been between the Ministries of Transport of Afghanistan and Russia, where Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, were also present.
According to the statement, the MoUs haven been signed for the expansion of trade between the chambers of commerce of both countries, collaboration among several major Afghan and Russian companies in the fields of oil and gas exploration, extraction, and refining, as well as the establishment of a commercial, industrial, and logistical complex for regional trade.
The agreements were signed during the inaugural Afghanistan-Russia Economic Forum, held as part of the 16th International Forum of Russia and the Islamic World in Kazan.
