TEHRAN: Sayed Abbas Araghchi has responded to Donald Trump’s recent statements in Riyadh, asserting that the U.S. is attempting to portray Iran as a source of insecurity.

He pointed out that the conflict in Gaza is a diversion from the real threats in the region.

Araghchi stated that the U.S. President’s claims about Iran being a cause of insecurity are misleading and deceptive.
He emphasized that the opposing side should recognize that the policy of maximum pressure has already failed.

He noted that one of the reasons for the Iranian people’s economic difficulties is the U.S., which seeks to impose a puppet government in Iran for its own interests, demands that contradict the dignity of the Iranian nation.

According to Tasnim News Agency, Araghchi made the remarks during a cabinet meeting while speaking to reporters.

Washington has long accused Tehran of destabilizing activities in the region. Just yesterday, President Trump reiterated his criticism of Iran in Riyadh, stating that Iran must stop supporting terrorism in the region.
