Three arrested on charges of murder of a tribal elder in Samangan
The provincial officials of Samangan said that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of Haji Mohammad Akbar Niazi, a prominent tribal elder in the province.
Niazi went missing on Thursday evening after receiving a phone call, and his body was later discovered.
Investigations revealed that he was murdered.
The Taliban’s spokesperson for the Samangan Police Command called the motive for the killing personal animosity.
According to local sources, Mohammad Akbar Niazi was detained by Taliban intelligence forces from his home.
