The Khralachi border crossing in Pakistan’s Kurram region, which had been closed for six months due to ethnic tensions, officially reopened for trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan yesterday.
Pakistani officials, speaking to reporters at the Khralachi crossing, announced that with the improvement of the security situation in Kurram, trade and the exchange of goods between the two countries have resumed.
They emphasized their efforts to stabilize trade routes.
Khralachi is one of the most important trade routes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and its closure in recent months had disrupted trade flows, negatively impacting the economic conditions of people on both sides of the border.
The crossing, located in northwestern Pakistan’s tribal region of Kurram, has a direct connection to Paktia province in Afghanistan and is regarded as a crucial trading point between the two countries.
