NEW DELHI: A helicopter crashed this morning in the state of Uttarakhand, India, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuring two others, Anadolu News Agency reported.
Indian media has not provided further details about the incident, but it has been reported that the condition of one of the injured is critical.
Indian authorities have announced that an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the helicopter crash.
State officials stated that administrative and rescue teams have arrived at the scene and have ordered that all possible assistance be provided while the cause of the incident is examined.
It is noteworthy that tensions in the region have escalated following India’s missile strikes in Operation Sundoor and recent conflicts in Kashmir.
