Shoigu: Drug Trafficking in Afghanistan Reduced by Nearly 90 Percent

Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, has said that the administration of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has fulfilled its commitments in the fight against narcotics and has taken extensive measures to reduce trafficking. The TASS news agency reported, citing Shoigu, that the Islamic Emirate administration has halted a large portion of the industrial production and export of narcotics. He added that the production and trafficking of narcotics from Afghanistan has decreased by nearly 90 percent compared to the past, and that this progress is the result of practical measures taken against drug trafficking.
