Special Message from Islamabad to Tehran

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said during his visit to Tehran that he is carrying a special message from Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the Supreme Leader of Iran. Speaking during a meeting with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Naqvi said the message relates to the current regional situation and is intended to help reduce tensions and support diplomatic solutions. During the meeting, Iran’s interior minister announced an agreement between the two countries to increase bilateral trade from $3 billion to $10 billion annually. He also praised Pakistan’s role in efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States. Naqvi described relations between Tehran and Islamabad as fraternal and expressed hope that political and diplomatic efforts would contribute to resolving ongoing crises and improving regional conditions.
