Amid continued disagreements between Tehran and Washington over the details of a potential deal, Donald Trump has said he will soon announce his final decision on the proposal. According to Reuters, the proposal includes extending the current ceasefire for an additional two months, in order to create space for a possible long-term agreement and an end to the war. Meanwhile, Iranian sources told Reuters that the two sides are now closer than ever to reaching an agreement. Reopening the Strait of Hormuz and securing assurances that Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons are among Trump’s key demands—conditions that Tehran has so far not accepted.
