Pakistan Expresses Hope to Host Next Round of Iran–US Talks

Pakistan says it hopes to host the next round of Iran–US negotiations, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif post on X that Pakistan would continue its efforts to support peace and expressed hope that the country could soon host the next round of talks. “We will continue our peace efforts with full sincerity and hope to host the next round of talks very soon,” he said. Reuters reported that Mr Sharif also thanked Donald Trump for what he described as “extraordinary efforts” to advance peace, following a telephone call with regional leaders including those of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Pakistan. According to the Pakistani prime minister, Asim Munir represented Pakistan in the call and also expressed appreciation for efforts to advance the negotiation process. Sharif said the discussions focused on the regional situation and on efforts to promote lasting peace.
