The United Nations Development Programme said it is supporting women’s empowerment initiatives in Bamyan Province with financial assistance from European Union. UNDP Afghanistan said on its X account that, during the current week, a delegation from the European Union, UN Women, World Food Programme, World Health Organization and several other organisations visited ongoing projects in Bamyan. According to the organisation, projects related to women’s empowerment, livelihood support, health services, irrigation systems and local markets are currently being implemented in the province. The European Union also said it is working to strengthen local economies, particularly in rural areas of Afghanistan, with the aim of supporting the growth and empowerment of women and local communities.
